244. மன்னுயிர் ஓம்பி அருளாள்வாற்கு இல்லென்ப
தன்னுயர்
அஞ்சும் வினை.
His soul is free from dread of sins 244
Whose mercy serveth all beings.
245. அல்லல் அருளாள்வார்க்கு இல்லை வளிவழங்கும்
மல்லல்மா

The wide wind-fed world witness bears: 245

246. பொருள்நீங்கிப் பொச்சாந்தார் என்பர் அருள்நீங்கி
அல்லவை செய்தொழுகு வார்.
Who grace forsake and graceless act

The former loss and woes forget.
247. அருளில்லார்க்கு அவ்வுலகம் இல்லை பொருளில்லார்க்கு
இவ்வுலகம் இல்லாகி யாங்கு.
This world is not for weathless

That world is not for graceless swines.
248. பொருளற்றார் பூப்பர் ஒருகால் அருளற்றார்
அற்றார்மற்
றாதல் அ¡¢து.
The wealthless may prosper one day; 248

graceless never bloom agay.
249. தெருளாதான் மெய்ப்பொருள் கண்டற்றால் தோ¢ன்
அருளாதான்
செய்யும் அறம்.
Like Truth twisted by confused mind 249
Wisdom is vain in hearts unkind.
250. வலியார்முன் தன்னை நினைக்கதான் தன்னின்
மெலியார்மேல்
செல்லும் இடத்து.

252. பொருள்ஆட்சி போற்றாதார்க்கு இல்லை அருள்ஆட்சி
ஆங்குஇல்லை ஊன்தின் பவர்க்கு.
The thriftless have no property

And flesh-eaters have no pity.
253. படைகொண்டார் நெஞ்சம்போல் நன்று ஊக்காது ஒன்றன்
உடல்சுவை உண்டார் மனம்.
Who wields a steel is steel-hearted

Who tastes body is hard-hearted.
254. அருள் அல்லது யாது எனின் கொல்லாமை கோறல்
பொருள் அல்லது
அவ்வூன் தினல்.
If merciless it is to kill, 254
To kill and
eat is disgraceful.
255. உண்ணாமை உள்ளது உயிர்நிலை ஊன்உண்ண
அண்ணாத்தல் செய்யாது
அளறு.
Off with flesh; a life you save 255
The eater hell's
mouth shall not waive!
256. தினற்பொருட்டால் கொல்லாது உலகுஎனின் யாரும்
விலைப்பொருட்டால் ஊன்தருவார் இல்.
None would kill and sell the

For eating it if they don't wish.
257. உண்ணாமை வேண்டும் புலாஅல் பிறிதொன்றன்
புண்அது
உணர்வார்ப் பெறின்.
From eating flesh men must abstain 257
If they but feel the being's pain.
258. செயி¡¢ன் தலைப்பி¡¢ந்த காட்சியார் உண்ணார்
உயி¡¢ன்
தலைப்பி¡¢ந்த ஊன்.
Whose mind from illusion is freed 258
Refuse on lifeless flesh to feed.
259. அவிசொ¡¢ந்து ஆயிரம் வேட்டலின் ஒன்றன்
உயிர்செகுத்து
உண்ணாமை நன்று.
Not to-kill-and-eat, truly 259
Excels
thousand pourings of ghee!
260. கொல்லான் புலாலை மறுத்தானைக் கைகூப்பி
எல்லா உயிரும்
தொழும்.
All lives shall lift their palms to him 260
Who
eats not flesh nor kills with whim.

261. உற்றநோய் நோன்றல்
உயிர்க்குஉறுகண் செய்யாமை
அற்றே தவத்திற்கு உரு.
Pains
endure; pain not beings 261
This is the type of true penance.
262. தவமும் தவம்உடையார்க்கு ஆகும் அவம் அதனை
அ·துஇலார்
மேற்கொள் வது.
Penance is fit for penitents 262
Not for him
who in vain pretends.
263. துறந்தார்க்குத் துப்புரவு வேண்டி மறந்தார்கொல்
மற்றை
யவர்கள் தவம்.
Is it to true penitent's aid, 263

others austere path avoid?
264. ஒன்னார்த் தெறலும் உவந்தாரை ஆக்கலும்
எண்ணின் தவத்தான்
வரும்.
In penance lies the power to save 264

and foil the foe and knave.
265. வேண்டிய வேண்டியாங்கு எய்தலால் செய்தவம்
ஈண்டு முயலப்
படும்.
What they wish as they wish is won 265

by men penance is done.
266. தவம்செய்வார் தம்கருமம் செய்வார்மற்று அல்லார்
அவஞ்செய்வார் ஆசையுட் பட்டு.
Who do penance achieve their aim

Others desire-rid themselves harm.
267. சுடச்சுடரும் பொன்போல் ஒளிவிடும் துன்பம்
சுடச்சுட
நோற்கிற் பவர்க்கு.
Pure and bright gets the gold in fire; 267
and so the life by pain austere.
268. தன்உயிர்தான்அறப் பெற்றானை ஏனைய
மன்னுயிர் எல்லாம்
தொழும்.
He worship wins from every soul 268
Who Master is
by soul control.
269. கூற்றம் குதித்தலும் கைகூடும் நோற்றலின்
ஆற்றம் தலைப்
பட்ட வர்க்கு.
They can even defy death 269
Who get by
penance godly strenth.
270. இலர்பலர் ஆகிய காரணம் நோற்பார்
சிலர்பலர் நோலா தவர்.
Many are poor and few are rich 270

272. வான்உயர் தோற்றம் எவன்செய்யும் தன்நெஞ்சம்
தான்அறி
குற்றப் படின்.
Of what avail are sky-high shows 272

guild the conscience gnaws and knows.
273. வலிஇல் நிலைமையான் வல்உருவம் பெற்றம்
புலியின் தோல்
போர்த்துமேய்ந் தற்று.
Vaunting sainthood while week within

Seems a grazer with tiger skin.
274. தவம்மறைந்து அல்லவை செய்தல் புதல்மறைந்து
வேட்டுவன்
புள்சிமிழ்த் தற்று.
Sinning in saintly show is like 274
Fowlers in ambush birds to strike.
275. பற்றுஅற்றேம் என்பார் படிற்றுஒழுக்கம் எற்றுஎற்றுஎன்று
ஏதம் பலவும் தரும்.
Who false within but freedom feign 275
Shall moan "What have we done" with pain.
276. நெஞ்சின் துறவார் துறந்தார்போல் வஞ்சித்து
வாழ்வா¡¢ன்
வன்கணார் இல்.
Vilest is he who seems a saint 276
Cheating
the world without restraint.
277. புறங்குன்றி கண்டனைய ரேனும் அகங்குன்றி
மூக்கிற்
கா¢யார் உடைத்து.
Berry-red is his outward view, 277
Black
like its nose his inward hue.
278. மனத்தது மாசுஆக மாண்டார்நீர் ஆடி
மறைந்துஒழுகு மாந்தர்
பலர்.
Filthy in mind some bathe in streams 278
Hiding sins
in showy extremes.
279. கணைகொடிது யாழ்கோடு செவ்விதுஆங்கு அன்ன
வினைபடு பாலால்
கொளல்.
Know men by acts and not by forms 279
Strait arrow
kills, bent lute but charms.
280. மழித்தலும் நீட்டலும் வேண்டா உலகம்
பழித்தது ஒழித்து
விடின்.
No balding nor tangling the hair! 280
Abstain from
condemned acts with care.

1.3.5 Absence of Fraud
281. எள்ளாமை வேண்டுவான் என்பான் எனைத்து ஒன்றும்
கள்ளாமை
காக்கதன் நெஞ்சு.
Let him who would reproachless be 281
From all frauds guard his conscience free.
282. உள்ளத்தால் உள்ளலும் தீதே பிறன்பொருளைக்
கள்ளத்தால்
கள்வேம் எனல்.
"We will by fraud win other's wealth" 282
Even this thought is sin and stealth.
283. களவினால் ஆகிய ஆக்கம் அளவுஇறந்து
ஆவது போலக் கெடும்.
The gain by fraud may overflow 283
But swift to ruin it shall
go.
284. களவின்கண் கன்றிய காதல் விளைவின்கண்
வீயா விழுமம்
தரும்.
The fruit that fraud and greed obtain 284
Shall end
in endless grief and pain.
285. அருள்கருதி அன்புடையர் ஆதல் பொருள்கருதிப்
பொச்சாப்புப் பார்ப்பார்கண் இல்.
Love and Grace are not their
worth 285
Who watch to waylay dozer's wealth.
286. அளவின்கண் நின்றுஒழுகல் ஆற்றார் களவின்கண்
கன்றிய காத
லவர்.
They cannot walk in measured bounds 286
who crave
and have covetous ends.
287. களவுஎன்னும் கார்அறிவு ஆண்மை அளவுஎன்னும்
ஆற்றல்
பு¡¢ந்தார்கண் இல்.
Men of measured wisdom shun 287
Black
art of fraud and what it won.
288. அளவுஅறிந்தார் நெஞ்சத்து அறம்போல நிற்கும்
களவுஅறிந்தார் நெஞ்சில் கரவு.
Virtue abides in righteous
hearts 288
Into minds of frauds deceit darts.
289. அளவுஅல்ல செய்தாங்கே வீவர் களவுஅல்ல
மற்றைய தேற்றா
தவர்.
They perish in their perfidy 289
Who know nothing
but pilfery.
290. கள்வார்க்குத் தள்ளும் உயிர்நிலை கள்ளார்க்குத்
தள்ளாது புத்தேள் உலகு.
Even the body rejects thieves; 290
The honest men, heaven receives.

1.3.6 Veracity
291. வாய்மை எனப்படுவது யாதெனின் யாதொன்றும்
தீமை இலாத
சொலல்.
If "What is truth"? the question be, 291
It is to
speak out evil-free.
292. பொய்ம்மையும் வாய்மை இடத்த புரைதீர்ந்த
நன்மை பயக்கும்
எனின்.
E'en falsehood may for truth suffice, 292
When good
it brings removing vice.
293. தன்நெஞ்சு அறிவது பொய்யற்க பொய்த்தபின்
தன்நெஞ்சே
தன்னைச் சுடும்.
Let not a man knowingly lie; 293
Conscience will scorch and make him sigh.
294. உள்ளத்தால் பொய்யாது ஒழுகின் உலகத்தார்
உள்ளத்துள்ளெல்லாம் உளன்.
He lives in loving hearts of all 294
Who serves the Truth serene in soul.
295. மனத்தொடு வாய்மை மொழியின் தவத்தொடு
தானஞ்செய் வா¡¢ன்
தலை.
To speak the truth from heart sincere 295
Is more
than giving and living austere.
296. பொய்யாமை அன்ன புகழ்இல்லை எய்யாமை
எல்லா அறமும் தரும்.
Not to lie brings all the praise 296
All virtues from Truth
arise.
297. பொய்யாமை பொய்யாமை ஆற்றின் அறம்பிற
செய்யாமை செய்யாமை
நன்று.
Lie not lie not. Naught else you need 297
All
virtues are in Truth indeed.
298. புறம்தூய்மை நீரான் அமையும் அகம்தூய்மை
வாய்மையான்
காணப் படும்.
Water makes you pure outward 298
Truth
renders you pure inward.
299. எல்லா விளக்கும் விளக்குஅல்ல சான்றோர்க்குப்
பொய்யா
விளக்கே விளக்கு.
All lights are not lights for the wise; 299
Truth light is light bright like Sun-light.
300. யாமெய்யாக் கண்டவற்றுள் இல்லை எனைத்துஒன்றும்
வாய்மையின் நல்ல பிற.
Of all the things we here have seen 300
Nothing surpasses Truth serene!

301. செல்லிடத்துக் காப்பான் சினம்காப்பான் அல்லிடத்துக்
காக்கின்என் காவாக்கால் என்.
Anger against the weak is wrong

It is futile against the strong.
302. செல்லா இடத்துச் சினம்தீது செல்லிடத்தும்
இல்அதனின்
தீய பிற.
Vain is wrath against men of force 302
Against
the meek it is still worse.
303. மறத்தல் வெகுளியை யார்மாட்டும் தீய
பிறத்தல் அதனான்
வரும்.
Off with wrath with any one. 303
It is the source
of sin and pain.
304. நகையும் உவகையும் கொல்லும் சினத்தின்
பகையும் உளவோ
பிற.
Is there a foe like harmful ire 304
Which kills the
smile and joyful cheer?
305. தன்னைத்தான் காக்கின் சினங்காக்க காவாக்கால்
தன்னையே
கொல்லும் சினம்.
Thyself to save, from wrath away! 305
If
not thyself the wrath will slay.
306. சினமென்னும் சேர்ந்தாரைக் கொல்லி இனம்என்னும்
ஏமப்
புணையைச் சுடும்.
Friend-killer is the fatal rage 306
It
burns the helpful kinship-barge.
307. சினத்தைப் பொருள்என்று கொண்டவன் கேடு
நிலத்துஅறைந்தான்
கைபிழையா தற்று.
The wrath-lover to doom is bound 307
Like
failless-hand that strikes the ground.
308. இணர்எ¡¢ தோய்வன்ன இன்னா செயினும்
புணா¢ன் வெகுளாமை
நன்று.
Save thy soul from burning ire 308
Though tortured
like the touch of fire.
309. உள்ளிய எல்லாம் உடனெய்தும் உள்ளத்தால்
உள்ளான் வெகுளி
எனின்.
Wishes he gains as he wishes 309
If man refrains
from rage vicious!
310. இறந்தார் இறந்தார் அனையர் சினத்தைத்
துறந்தார்
துறந்தார் துணை.
Dead are they who are anger-fed 310
Saints
are they from whom wrath has fled.

311. சிறப்புஈனும் செல்வம் பெறினும் பிறர்க்குஇன்னா
செய்யாமை மாசற்றார் கோள்.
The pure by faith mean pain to none

Though princely wealth by that is won.
312. கறுத்துஇன்னா செய்தஅக் கண்ணும் மறுத்துஇன்னா
செய்யாமை
மாசுஅற்றார் கோள்.
The spotless hearts seek not revenge 312
Though Malice does the worst in rage.
313. செய்யாமல் செற்றார்க்கும் இன்னாத செய்தபின்
உய்யா
விழுமம் தரும்.
Revenging even causeless hate 313
Bad-blood
breeds and baneful heat.
314. இன்னாசெய் தாரை ஒறுத்தல் அவர்நாண
நன்னயம் செய்து
விடல்.
Doing good-turns, put them to shame 314
Thus chide
the evil who do harm.
315. அறிவினான் ஆகுவ துண்டோ பிறிதின்நோய்
தம்நோய்போல்
போற்றாக் கடை.
What does a man from wisdom gain 315
If he
pines not at other's pain?
316. இன்னா எனத்தான் உணர்ந்தவை துன்னாமை
வேண்டும் பிறன்கண்
செயல்.
What you feel as pain to yourself 316
Do it not to
the other-self.
317. எனைத்தானும் எஞ்ஞான்றும் யார்க்கும் மனத்தான்ஆம்
மாணாசெய் யாமை தலை.
Any, anywhere injure not 317
At any
time even in thought.
318. தன்உயிர்ககு இன்னாமை தான்அறிவான் என்கொலோ
மன்னுயிர்க்கு இன்னா செயல்.
How can he injure other souls 318
Who in his life injury feels.
319. பிறர்க்கின்னா முற்பகல் செய்யின் தமக்குஇன்னா
பிற்பகல்
தாமே வரும்.
Harm others in the forenoon 319
Harm seeks
thee in afternoon.
320. நோய்எல்லாம் நோய்செய்தார் மேலவாம் நோய்செய்யார்
நோய்இன்மை வேண்டு பவர்.
No harm is done by peace-lovers 320
For pains rebound on pain-givers.

1.3.9 Non-Killing
321. அறவினை யாதெனில் கொல்லாமை கோறல்
பிறவினை எல்லாம்
தரும்.
What is Virtue? 'Tis not to kill 321
For killing
causes every ill.
322. பகுத்துஉண்டு பல்உயிர் ஓம்புதல் நூலோர்
தொகுத்தவற்றுள்
எல்லாம் தலை.
Share the food and serve all lives 322
This
is the law of all the laws.
323. ஒன்றாக நல்லது கொல்லாமை மற்றுஅதன்
பின்சாரப் பொய்யாமை
நன்று.
Not to kill is unique good 323
The next, not to
utter falsehood.
324. நல்ஆறு எனப்படுவது யாதெனின் யாதுஒன்றும்
கொல்லாமை
சூழும் நெறி.
What way is good? That we can say 324
The way
away from heat to slay.
325. நிலைஅஞ்சி நீத்தாருள் எல்லாம் கொலைஅஞ்சிக்
கொல்லாமை
சூழ்வான் தலை.
Of saints who renounce birth-fearing 325
The
head is he who dreads killing.
326. கொல்லாமை மேற்கொண்டு ஒழுகுவான் வாழ்நாள்மேல்
செல்லாது
உயிருண்ணும் கூற்று.
Life-eating-Death shall spare the breath

Of him who no life puts to death.
327. தன்உயிர் நீப்பினும் செய்யற்க தான்பிறிது
இன்உயிர்
நீக்கும் வினை.
Kill not life that others cherish 327
Even
when your life must perish.
328. நன்றுஆகும் ஆக்கம் பொ¢துஎனினும் சான்றோர்க்குக்
கொன்றுஆகும் ஆக்கம் கடை.
The gain of slaughter is a vice 328
Though deemed good in sacrifice.
329. கொலைவினையர் ஆகிய மாக்கள் புலைவினையார்
புன்மை தொ¢வார்
அகத்து.
Those who live by slaying are 329
Eaters of
carrion bizarre!
330. உயிர்உடம்பின் நீக்கியார் என்ப செயிர்உடம்பின்
செல்லாத்தீ வாழ்க்கை யவர்.
The loathsome poor sickly and sore

Are killers stained by blood before.

331. நில்லா வற்றை நிலையின என்றுஉணரும்
புல்லறிவு ஆண்மை
கடை.
The worst of follies it is told 331
The fleeting as
lasting to hold.
332. கூத்தாட்டு அவைக்குழாத் தறே பெருஞ்செல்வம்
போக்கும்
அதுவிளிந் தற்று.
Like a drama-crowd wealth gathers 332
Like passing show its pride too goes.
333. அற்கா இயல்பிற்றுச் செல்வம் அதுபெற்றால்
அற்குப ஆங்கே
செயல்.
Wealth wanes away; but when it comes 333
Take care
to do enduring things.
334. நாள்என ஒன்றுபோல் காட்டி உயிர்ஈரும்
வாள் அது
உணர்வார்ப் பெறின்.
The showy day is but a saw 334
Your
life, know that, to file and gnaw.
335. நாச்செற்று விக்குள்மேல் வாராமுன் நல்வினை
மேற்சென்று
செய்யப் படும்.
Ere tongue benumbs and hiccough comes 335
Rise up to do good deeds betimes.
336. நெருநல் உளன்ஒருவன் இன்றுஇல்லை என்னும்
பெருமை
உடைத்துஇவ் வுலகு.
One was yesterday; not today! 336
337. ஒருபொழுதும் வாழ்வது அறியார் கருதுப
கோடியும் அல்ல பல.
Man knows not his next moment 337
On crores of things he is
intent.
338. குடம்பை தனித்துஒழியப் புள்பறந் தற்றே
உடம்போடு
உயி¡¢டை நட்பு.
The soul from body any day 338
Like bird
from egg-shell flies away.
339. உறங்குவது போலும் சாக்காடு உறங்கி
விழிப்பது போலும்
பிறப்பு.
Death is like a slumber deep 339
And birth like
waking from that sleep.
340. புக்கில் அமைந்தின்று கொல்லோ உடம்பினுள்
துச்சில்
இருந்த உயிர்க்கு.
The life berthed in this body shows 340
A fixed home it never knows.

1.3.11 Renunciation
341. யாதனின் யாதனின் நீங்கியான் நோதல்
அதனின் அதனின் இலன்.
From what from what a man is free 341
From that, from that
his torments flee.
342. வேண்டின் உண் டாகத் துறக்க துறந்தபின்
ஈண்டுஇயற் பால
பல.
Give up all to gain the True 342
And endless joys
shall hence seek you.
343. அடல்வேண்டும் ஐந்தன் புலத்தை விடல்வேண்டும்
வேண்டிய
எல்லாம் ஒருங்கு.
Curb the senses five and renounce 343
The
carving desires all at once.
344. இயல்புஆகும் நோன்பிற்குஒன்று இன்மை உடைமை
மயல்ஆகும்
மற்றும் பெயர்த்து.
To have nothing is law of vows 344
Having the least deludes and snares.
345. மற்றும் தொடர்ப்பாடு எவன்கொல் பிறப்புஅறுக்கல்
உற்றார்க்கு உடம்பும் மிகை.
Why add to bonds while this body

Is too much for saints to be birth-free.
346. யான் எனது என்னுஞ் செருக்குஅறுப்பான் வானோர்க்கு
உயர்ந்த உலகம் புகும்.
Who curbs the pride of I and mine 346
Gets a world rare for gods to gain.
347. பற்றி விடாஅ இடும்பைகள் பற்றினைப்
பற்றி விடாஅ
தவர்க்கு.
Grief clings on and on to those 347
Who cling to
bonds without release.
348. தலைப்பட்டார் தீரத் துறந்தார் மயங்கி
வலைப்பட்டார்
மற்றை யவர்.
Who renounce all are free from care 348
Others
suffer delusive snare.
349. பற்றுஅற்ற கண்ணே பிறப்புஅறுக்கும் மற்று
நிலையாமை
காணப் படும்.
Bondage cut off, rebirth is off 349
The world
then seems instable stuff.
350. பற்றுக பற்றற்றான் பற்றினை அப்பற்றைப்
பற்றுக பற்று
விடற்கு.
Bind Thyself to the unbound one 350
That binding
breaks all bonds anon.

351. பொருள்அல்ல வற்றைப் பொருள்என்று உணரும்

மாணாப் பிறப்பு.
That error entails ignoble birth 351

deems vain things as things of worth.
352. இருள்நீங்கி இன்பம் பயக்கும் மருள்நீங்கி
மாசுஅறு
காட்சி யவர்க்கு.
Men of spotless pure insight 352
Enjoy
delight devoid of night.
353. ஐயத்தின் நீங்கித் தெளிந்தார்க்கு வையத்தின்
வானம்
நணியது உடைத்து.
To doubtless minds whose heart is clear 353
More than earth heaven is near.
354. ஐயுணர்வு எய்தியக் கண்ணும் பயம்இன்றே
மெய்யுணர்வு
இல்லா தவர்க்கு.
Knowledge of five senses is vain 354
Without knowing the Truth within.

356. கற்றுஈண்டு மெய்ப்பொருள் கண்டார் தலைப்படுவர்
மற்றுஈண்டு வாரா நெறி.
Who learn and here the Truth discern

Enter the path of non-return.
357. ஓர்த்துஉள்ளம் உள்ளது உணா¢ன் ஒருதலையாப்
பேர்த்துஉள்ள
வேண்டா பிறப்பு.
One-minded sage sees inner-truth 357
He is
free from thoughts of rebirth.
358. பிறப்புஎன்னும் பேதைமை நீங்கச் சிறப்புஎன்னும்
செம்பொருள் காண்பது அறிவு.
It is knowledge to know Self-Truth

And remove the folly of birth.
359. சார்புஉணர்ந்து சார்பு கெடஒழுகின் மற்றுஅழித்துச்
சார்தரா சார்தரு நோய்.
Know the Refuge; off with bondage 359
Be free from ills of thraldom, O sage.
360. காமம் வெகுளி மயக்கம் இவைமூன்றன்
நாமம் கெடக்கெடும்
நோய்.
Woes expire when lust, wrath, folly 360
Expire even
to name, fully.

361. அவாஎன்ப எல்லா உயிர்க்கும் எஞ் ஞான்றும்
தவாஅப்
பிறப்புஈனும் வித்து.
Desire to all, always is seed 361
From which ceaseless births proceed.
362. வேண்டுங்கால் வேண்டும் பிறவாமை மற்றது
வேண்டாமை வேண்ட
வரும்.
If long thou must, long for non-birth 362
It comes
by longing no more for earth.
363. வேண்டாமை அன்ன விழுச்செல்வம் ஈண்டுஇல்லை
ஆண்டும்
அ·தொப்பது இல்.
No such wealth is here and there 363
As
peerless wealth of non-desire.
364. தூஉய்மை என்பது அவாஇன்மை மற்றது
வாஅய்மை வேண்ட வரும்.
To nothing crave is purity 364
That is the fruit of verity.
365. அற்றவர் என்பார் அவாஅற்றார் மற்றையார்
அற்றாக அற்றது
இலர்.
The free are those who desire not 365
The rest not
free in bonds are caught.
366. அஞ்சுவது ஓரும் அறனே ஒருவனை
வஞ்சிப்பது ஓரும் அவா.
Dread desire; Virtue is there 366
To every soul desire is
snare!
367. அவாவினை ஆற்ற அறுப்பின் தவாவினை
தான்வேண்டும் ஆற்றான்
வரும்.
Destroy desire; deliverance 367
Comes as much as
you aspire hence.
368. அவாஇல்லார்க் கில்லாகுந் துன்பம் அ·துண்டேல்
தவாஅது
மேன்மேல் வரும்.
Desire extinct no sorrow-taints 368
Grief
comes on grief where it pretends.
369. இன்பம் இடையறாது ஈண்டும் அவாஎன்னும்
துன்பத்துள்
துன்பம் கெடின்.
Desire, the woe of woes destroy 369
Joy of
joys here you enjoy.
370. ஆரா இயற்கை அவாநீப்பின் அந்நிலையே
பேரா இயற்கை தரும்.
Off with desire insatiate 370
You gain the native blissful
state.
