BEIJING, April
9 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC)
will promote exchanges and cooperation with the
ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) to boost
bilateral ties, said a senior CPC official here
Thursday.
Wang Gang,
a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central
Committee and vice chairman of the National
Committee of the Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks
when meeting with an SLFP delegation led by the
party's general secretary Maithripala Sirisena.
Wang said
the growth of relations between the CPC and the SLFP
played an important role in country-to-country ties.
"The two
parties should enhance cooperation and learn from
each other's governing experience," Wang said. The
delegation arrived Wednesday and will return home on
April 15.
