"China must take leadership against the intentions of western imperialist powers
to create an Israel in South Asia by dividing Sri Lanka" Comrade Wimal
Weerawansa, Propaganda Secretary of JVP said.
Comrade Weerawansa said this while he was attending the official discussion with
Comrade Cheng Feng Gi Xiang, Deputy Minister of Foreign bureau and the Central
Committee member of Chinese Communist Party on 3rd of September at Beijing.
Speaking further he said, China is a historical friend of Sri Lanka and even now
she has taken a leading position among the other regional friends of our nation.
People's Liberation Front being the foremost left party and the third force in
the Sri Lankan politics. We believe our party is the only force to change the
path of neo liberal economic system and recover Sri Lanka from its fateful
situation experiencing now. Just as Chinese Communist Party lead the people
facing the new challenges of the nation, we intend to fight the western
challenge of re-colonization by leading the masses of our county. We have to
take examples of Chinese experience identifying new challenges and solving
problems before they challenge the society as a whole.
JVP Parliamentarians, Comrades Jayantha Samaraweera, Jayantha Wijesekara,
Ranaweera Pathirana and other representatives from the party who tour in China
were also present at this occasion. The JVP delegation is due to tour in Xiang
region today.
