Tamils - a Trans State Nation..

"To us all towns are one, all men our kin.
Life's good comes not from others' gift, nor ill
Man's pains and pains' relief are from within.
Thus have we seen in visions of the wise !."

Vijayakant - Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) "While India wants to retain its hold in South Asia by helping Sri Lanka with arms, Sri Lanka would use the same arms against innocent Tamils in the name of war against LTTE. And neither would India ask Sri Lanka to stop the attacks. And all this while, the Tamil Nadu government would be shedding crocodile tears."  Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK ) leader Vijayakant On Karunanidhi's Farce, 30 October 2008

Chennai, Oct 30 (PTI) After AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa described MPs resignation episode by the DMK as a "farcical drama", DMDK leader Vijayakant has made a similar allegation and slammed the State and Centre for not ensuring a ceasefire in Sri Lanka.

"The Sri Lankan Tamils issue came in handy for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to divert people's attention from power cut, price rise and other problems.... he enacted a drama by announcing the resignation of Tamil Nadu MPs if the Centre did not ensure ceasefire in Sri Lanka in two weeks (by Oct 29). But neither has the war ended there nor have the MPs resigned," the actor-politician said in a release here.

"While India wants to retain its hold in South Asia by helping Sri Lanka with arms, [note by tamilnation.org  see also  "We won’t stop military cooperation with Lanka says Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee", 24 October 2008] Sri Lanka would use the same against innocent Tamils in the name of war against LTTE. And neither would India ask Sri Lanka to stop the attacks. And all this while, the Tamil Nadu government would be shedding crocodile tears" he said.

He also flayed the State and Centre for "claiming credit" to send 800 tonne of humanitarian aid to Sri Lankan Tamils when the same effort was made earlier by Tamil Nationalist Movement leader, P Nedumaran, but prevented by the state government. As for contributing towards the Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund, the DMDK would make its contributions to the district collectors, Vijayakant said.
