Around 2000 French Tamils marched in Paris Wednesday afternon in a silent walking vigil, organized by French Tamil Students Forum. Demonstrants carrying placards stating "we are not terrorists," gathered at place de la R�publique at 3:00 p.m. and walked towards Place de Bastille where a meeting was held.


A placard at the vigil:
"To fight for freedom and  equality is not terrorism."

Anthony Russell, a councillor of the La Courneuve commune in the northeastern Paris, and a Tamil media activist, Siva Sinnappodi, addressed those who participated in the vigil which was concluded at 5:30 p.m.

French counterterrorism police on April 01 raided Tamil organisations in Paris and arrested 19 individuals on accusations of extorting funds to the Tamil Tigers, five days after the Tiger airstrike on Katunayake military base in Colombo.

Demonstrants carried placards urging the French authorities to release the arrested Tamil activists.

Les plaquettes portantes de Demonstrants �non�ant "nous ne sommes pas des terroristes," recueilli � l'endroit de la R�publique � 3:00 P.M. et march� vers Place de Bastille o� une r�union a �t� tenue.

Les Fran�ais maintiennent l'ordre contre le terrorisme sur des organismes tamouls pill�s avril de 01 � Paris et arr�t�s 19 individus sur des accusations des fonds extorquants aux tigres tamouls, cinq jours apr�s le raid a�rien de tigre sur la base militaire de Katunayake dans Colombo.

Demonstrants a port� des plaquettes invitant les autorit�s fran�aises pour lib�rer les activistes tamouls arr�t�s.
