The Tamil Language Computing
Initiatives Launch at Chennai on 15 April 2005
was marked by the Release of Free 'Tamil
Software Tools & Fonts'. Microsoft released its Microsoft Office Tamil on
that day. The free Tamil Software will
include the following -

2. Unicode complaint Open Type

3. Tamil version of BharateeyaOO (Spread Sheet,
Presentations, Word processing & drawing tools)
for Linux and Windows by C-DAC,
Bangalore
4. FireFox Tamil Browser for Linux
and Windows by C-DAC, Bangalore
5. Columba : Tamil Email for Linux
and Windows by C-DAC, Bangalore.
6. Min Olai : Java based Tamil
Editor with spell checker by Anna University
