Tamils - a Trans State Nation..

"To us all towns are one, all men our kin.
Life's good comes not from others' gift, nor ill
Man's pains and pains' relief are from within.
Thus have we seen in visions of the wise !."

Tamil Poem in Purananuru, circa 500 B.C

'LTTE shifting base to Tamil Nadu'
says AIADMK Leader Jayalalitha: Crying Tiger?

Statesman News Service, 31 December 2007

Chennai, Dec.31: Expressing fears that the LTTE was looking to shift its base to Tamil Nadu, AIADMK supremo Ms Jayalalitha said every political party of any consequence, except hers, was prepared to welcome the organisation with open arms into the state.

“This presents an alarming picture. Given the support of the Centre to the Tamil Nadu government, only God can save the state,” she said here last night.

Maoist activities had also increased in the state, she said, charging national security adviser Mr MK Narayanan with “trying to deceive people” by his statement that there was no infiltration of LTTE into Tamil Nadu. Ms Jayalalitha said: “This is a sad state of affairs. People in responsible positions are trying to deceive the people. They show scant regard for law and order.”

The AIADMK supremo, who had an alliance with the BJP during the 2004 Lok Sabha elections said Gujarat chief minister Mr Narendra Modi would meet her in Chennai on 14 January.

When asked whether she was getting closer to the BJP, she said: “It is up to you to draw your conclusions.” She, however, said: “The AIADMK is keeping its options open on having an alliance.”
