Tamils - a Trans State Nation..

"To us all towns are one, all men our kin.
Life's good comes not from others' gift, nor ill
Man's pains and pains' relief are from within.
Thus have we seen in visions of the wise !."

Tamil Poem in Purananuru, circa 500 B.C

Verse 1:

Suffering from war, the greatest sin,

Being deprived of Food, shelter, rights and medicine,

The Tamils face this tragedy day after day,

And theres nothing really more, to say

But the struggle, keeps, going on,

And Im explaining, it, through this song,

About the suffering and injustice which the Tamils face,

Caused by the Sri Lankan Government,

The Biggest Disgrace

Chorus:

The Tamils face injustice day after day,

So raise your voice and have your say!

The Sri Lankan Government is evil and unfair too,

So do the right thing for me and you!

Verse 2:

The Families and Children in Vanni,

Suffering through everything including poverty,

All of this because of the war,

All they want is peace which they adore,

So for the Tamils, understand the struggle

As for the Government, try to toggle..

Them from the bad to the good and the cant to the could

And well all live in a great neighborhood.

Chorus:

The Tamils face injustice day after day,

So raise your voice and have your say!

The Sri Lankan Government is evil and unfair too,

So do the right thing for me and you!

Bridge:

Raise your voice for justice,

Raise your voice for peace,

Raise your voice for Freedom

Will you help the Tamils please?

Think about the struggle, Think about the lives.

Are you gonna sit back whilst so many people die?

Chorus:

The Tamils faced injustice day after day,

So raise your voice and have your say!

The Sri Lankan Government is evil and unfair too,

So do the right thing for me and you!

Background Information

Title & Musician:

The Struggle was written by a Tamil Australian Musician named Senthan Sanchayan. The song is about the Tamils suffering through injustice, poverty and war in Sri Lanka. Senthan has heard of many tragic stories about the abuse and sufferings of the Tamils and his family are very involved in charity work. He believes that their must be a change.

Explanation of Social Problem being protested:

The Tamils of Sri Lanka are a fine example of War Sufferers and Sufferers of poverty .The Tamils of Sri Lanka have been abused of their human rights which have been taken away from them by the Sri Lankan government. The Tamils have tiny supplies of food, medicine, rights, shelter and education because of the mean and inhumane acts of the Sri Lankan Government. The Struggle of Freedom of the Tamils has been going on for over sixty years and is unknown by most of the world. People have endlessly been trying to help their family and friends back home who are suffering a serious tragedy. The Injustice which the Tamils are facing is the doings of the Sri Lankan Government. The Tamils are facing many tough issues due to this fact. Out of a pool of many, one is poverty. Many people believe that it is time for a change and it is. It is time for the Tamils to be set free from the evil doings of the Sri Lankan government. The Protest song is about the inhumane acts of the Sri Lankan Government and how the Tamils have been miss - treated. The Tamils must be set free from this injustice. The struggle is like an infection. The Tamils have been struggling for their rights for decades and the Sri Lankan Government, like bad bacteria have made no change. We must act as the medicine and cure the Tamils of the disease of Injustice.

Relevance of words and phrases selected:

Many phrases and words are used to describe and explain the struggle of the Tamils. The words The Tamils face injustice day after day, so raise your voice and have your say refers to people raising their voices for the ones that cant and encouraging people to understand and help the Tamils of Sri Lanka. The Bridge of the song also relates to raising your voice. The Phrase The Families and Children in Vanni, Suffering through everything including poverty refers to one, of the many things which the Tamils face day after day, due to the war and acts of the Sri Lankan Government. The term And well all have a great neighborhood indicates, that if we stop one war, we can take many steps forward to changing the world.
