Wakeley
Samson Wijiyekumar Paul graduated from Cambridge
University. He was a Master of Laws from Stanford
University and a Barrister at Law, Middle Temple,
London. A former Crown Counsel in Ceylon for 11 years he
was a Criminal Defence Attorney in New Jersey USA for 33
years. He was a former President, Ilankai Thamil
Sangam USA, an Association of Tamils living in the US.
He represented the Tamils on behalf of the Thamil
Sangam, at the United Nations Human Rights Commission in
Geneva in the 80's and 90's and spoke and wrote
extensively on the Tamil Eelam freedom struggle. He
passed away in the USA on 9 March 2009. His Obituary
